Massage has been apart of my life as long as I can remember. Whenever I would visit my Grandma she would have me rest my head in her lap and give me the best scalp and face massage, I can still feel the soft caring touch of her hands. My Dad would regularly request foot rubs when he would get home from a long day of work, and seeing how happy it made him infused a joy in me for giving the gift of relaxation and connection to others. Although massage was a huge part of my life I never considered it as a profession until I started teaching yoga and giving physical assistance and touch to students during class. I received a lot of comments and encouragement about my ability to approach the body which ultimately lead me to pursue massage as a profession. I truly feel that I have found my calling in life and love connecting with my clients and fellow bodyworkers!
I graduated from Western North Carolina School of Massage in Asheville, North Carolina. Where in addition to receiving my massage certificate, I also earned a certificate in Neuromuscular Therapy. This technique blends together Swedish, Myofascial & Trigger Point work to give long lasting pain relief to clients. I have been a practicing licensed Massage Therapist since 2019. License #MA61149306
My modalities include; Swedish, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy Massage, Abdominal Massage, Aromatherapy, Chinese Fire Cupping, Gua Sha and Neuromuscular Therapy. Each session will blend together a combination of these techniques to ensure optimal results. You can expect a firm pressure that yields therapeutic benefits.
Over the years I have always stayed curious about the exploration of the body. This has lead to continue my education in massage with some fantastic instructors:
Trigger point therapy with Cat Matlock
Psoas Muscle exploration with Liz Koch
Nurturing the Mother: Pregnancy & Postpartum Massage with Claire Marie Miller
Craniosacral Therapy at Bastyr University
Therapeutic Massage with Brian Utting
Intra Oral Certified on 4/18/2024
Lymphatic Drainage with Raizelah Bayen
In 2017 I completed a 200hr. yoga teacher training which was held at Metamorphose Yoga Studio on the beautiful garden Island of Kauai. I have gone on to teach at small studios, athletic clubs and private in home classes but I am currently focused on my massage practice and developing self massage classes to encourage clients to take their wellbeing into their own hands. In 2020 I worked at Clasique Pilates Studio in Asheville, NC where I was introduced to classical pilates. This exposure has been deeply profound in my movement practice, maintaining the physical demands while working as a full time massage therapist and how I understand strength imbalances in clients bodies.
When Iām not massaging you will probably find me working at home on our 5+ acre property that my husband Andrew and I are developing into Mossy Moon Farm, an herbal focused farm that will produce herbal skincare products, teas and more!
